We were recently shown an article about how businesses and giant warehouses are putting motion detector lights within buildings. As the workers are in the area, the lights goes on. When they leave, they goes off. The result was a savings of nearly 50% on their energy bill.
Then some thinking came about. What if we could do the same thing for all the houses all over the world. Imagine how much energy and money could be saved by simply installing motion detectors in the areas the house.
If you are someone who comes home late at night the motion detector has the added advantage of saving you from fumbling around looking for the light switch. While it may not be fifty percent, the cost to buy and install should be offset by the money you will definitely be saving.
