I do have a self cleaning button on it so it is not a hassel to clean. I find that it takes extra effort to make sure on the stove top you get the flame just right for cooking, but you do not have to remove the item from the stove top when it is done. With an electric stove, items can burn if they are not removed from the burner, it takes time for the coil to cool down.
